Our 20th Anniversary cruisers!

SOUTH PACIFIC CRUISE - 26th October 2010.
22 members and their wives boarded the Dawn Princess for a 13 day cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Three ports were visited in each country. The tour had great weather except for the last two sea days.
Most of the Grandviews crew went ashore in each of the ports to sample the local fare. The Isle of Pines, Champagne Bay, Lifou and Wala all had beautiful swimming beaches with villages close to the main wharf. We were ferried to these wharves in one of the 150 passenger life rafts and we were met by locals in their outrigger canoes selling handicrafts and local food.
They also offered trips in their local glass bottomed canoes, and visits to their village for a small fee usually $5.
On board, the cabins were 'efficient' with no space wasted.
Each couple had a queen bed, shower, toilet and full vanity setup. The balcony had a table and chairs so in all it was very comfortable.
An extensive array of foods were served and each day the 'specials' were changed. Our ship board days were spent pool side lounging, swimming, movies, threatre, exercising in the gym and keeping the mind active with bingo and trivial pursuit. Often a walk around the deck in the fine, warm weather made the outdoors attractive.
What a wonderful way to augment your retirement days!
Our thanks to Ken H for the tour and this summary of the Anniversary cruise.
