Cattleduffers Mixed Club Day 4th Sept.

The forecast was for rain, and RAIN it did, in bucketfulls. However around 60 hardy souls packed into a shed  on the banks of the Georges River and our Cullinary Committee did a great job with BBQ'd bangers. The Woman's Probus Club was well represented in numbers and in showing their special cooking skills - yummy cakes etc everywhere. Our thanks to Les G, John F, George G and the boys on the organising detail. The day was a real success mainly due to the close density seating and the fun caused by sudden unexpected waterfalls near the Marshalls. Wet can be wonderful and who was that idiot fishing???? Did he really hook that runabout?

Canterbury Race Day 10th Sept.

70 racing identities took over the VIP Room at the races and after a fine lunch they settled down to some serious betting. Bobbie C took a large bag along for her proposed winnings, Ken V had various computer form printouts and Peter L had instructions on 'How to Bet'. After 7 races there were not too many happy faces due to some outsiders winning. However Joy B, Keith C and Table 5 all had big days. We were all delighted to see Col L and he joined in the fun. Thank you Barry D for a great day.
