TOURS

January 2010 - Breakfast Walk courtesy John & Joan T.

We had 64 roll up and despite inclement weather we all enjoyed the morning.  Barry D was in his element as "bar steward' serving champagne to the guests on their

arrival.

Some elected to take a 30min. Walk along the boardwalk at Lambeth Park, Picnic Point before enjoying a full English breakfast.

Les G showed his "scouting skills" in erecting a lean to for the cooking area, while further along the newly acquired Club gazebo was erected for the serving of dry foods.

The menu consisted of fruit juices, peaches and pear slices, Greek yogurt, cereal, muesli together with breads and pastries.  The hot food menu was chipolata sausages, bacon, hash browns, grilled tomatoes and scrambled egg.

Tea and coffee was also available with fresh peaches and nectarines.

Typical of fine arranging only after enjoying breakfast and relaxing before preparing to pack up, did the rains arrive, which naturally sent all scurrying.

All in all a great morning and proving that our all male Club cooks are capable of providing more than the "burnt snag".

The food queue for breakfast - what sort of plates?

Ken, John, George & Barry - bubbly & orange!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY BATEMAN'S BAY 2009.

Photograph(s) by Jan D - looks like fun!

Our Grandviews club is blessed with excellent organisation, quality management and wonderful tours- this tour was one of the best.

We stayed at the Bateman's Bay Waters Motel and toured locally to the Oyster Shed, Mogo Zoo and a Clyde River cruise. We also visited Bermagui and our last day we came back to Sydney via Goulburn.

The highlight was our Christmas dinner on the last evening where tour leader Barry D excelled as Santa, however the big news was the poor quality of French signing by our group.........until along came a mystery 'Caruso' - our own Mr Ron S. At great 'cost' to the club, as outlined by his manager, Mr George "The Colonel' G, our Caruso not only showed all present how to sign in French, he sang in tune, and finally did us proud with a rousing rendition of our own national anthem.

Well done Ron, your talent has been escalated to new heights by being recognised in print, however how much did you have to pay Peter L and Graeme N for their backing???.

On a serious note, our thanks to the Barry & Jan D, and offsider Ian G for their tour - excellent, excellent, excellent.

PS: Caruso was seen negotiating with Grandviews and Golf management last wednesday......any news Colonel G?????

Will the concert be in the Restaurant, or downstairs?
